No singles “if I’m not ready”

Nadal said on the sidelines of the “Six Kings Slam” in Saudi Arabia that he would definitely be “emotionally” ready: “And physically and in terms of playing, I still have a month left to prepare.” But: “If I don’t feel ready for the individual, I will be the first to communicate that.”

If Nadal actually forgoes an individual case, there would still be the opportunity to say goodbye properly before the court. In doubles, the clay court king could compete alongside compatriot Carlos Alcaraz – as he did at the Olympic Games in Paris.
