UConn men’s basketball announces non-conference schedule

STORRS, CT (WFSB) – The University of Connecticut men’s basketball team announced its roster this week with 11 games against non-league opponents.

The reigning NCAA champions will play against schools like Baylor, Gonzaga and Texas.

Fans will see the Huskies for the first time in 2024-25 at the Basketball Hall of Fame Enshrinement Game, which UConn said was an exhibition match against Rhode Island. The game is scheduled to begin Oct. 14 at Mohegan Sun Arena, with proceeds benefiting the Coaches vs. Cancer charity.

The 2024-25 season officially begins on banner night, with an intrastate matchup against Sacred Heart on November 6.

Next up in town is New Hampshire on November 9th.

UConn will play its first game against Le Moyne on November 13th and then face another new opponent on November 19th when it hosts Texas A&M-Commerce.

Next up is the 2024 Maui Invitational. The Huskies will play at the Lahaina Civic Center on Nov. 25, 26 and 27. UConn will face Memphis in Maui in the first game, then either Colorado or Michigan State in the second game before facing one of Auburn, Iowa State, Dayton and North Carolina in the third game.

After returning from three games in three days in Hawaii, UConn hosts UMES in Connecticut on November 30th.

In December, 2021 national champion Baylor visits UConn for a matchup in the final part of the BIG EAST-Big 12 battle.

UConn will experience its first real practical test on December 8 in Austin, Texas.

The Huskies return for their non-conference finale against Gonzaga in the 2024 Hall of Fame Series on December 14 at Storrs South, Madison Square Garden.
