The new season of the UEFA Nations League is in full swing! On Monday, Turkey will host the team from Iceland in Izmir as part of the second day (from 8:45 p.m. in the LIVETICKER).

Turkey started the Nations League with a 0-0 draw in Wales. Their upcoming opponents from Iceland did much better, winning their first match in Group 4 in League B 2-0 against Montenegro and also taking the lead in the table after the first matchday.

There was a shocking moment in the Nations League duel between Wales and Turkey when former SC Freiburg professional Caglar Söyüncü inadvertently inflicted a serious-looking injury on his opponent Kieffer Moore.

In the final quarter of an hour, Söyüncü hit Moore in the face with full force in a duel for the ball. Moore had to be treated for several minutes and finally returned to the field with a bloody head bandage.

The Icelandic national team made a convincing start to the competition, winning 2-0 against Montenegro in front of their home crowd. Oskarsson and Thorsteinsson were the goalscorers for the Icelanders, who took the lead in the table thanks to their success. With a win, however, Turkey can overtake their opponents.
