Report: Kadarius Toney signs with Browns practice squad

Kadarius Toney is back. Somehow.

About NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, the former Giants and Chiefs receiver has signed with the Browns. He will join the team’s training squad.

Toney, a first-round pick in 2021, had also visited the Seahawks since being released by the Chiefs two weeks ago.

The player’s talent is undeniable. The question is his commitment and concentration. He drops a lot of passes. And he causes a lot of confusion for those who expect him to play consistently at a high level.

Toney played a key role in Kansas City’s victory in Super Bowl LVII: he caught the game-winning pass (with extra point) and set up the decisive touchdown with a 65-yard punt return, a Super Bowl record.

But in 2023, he had several drops and mistakes, leading the Chiefs to put him on ice from mid-December through the end of the postseason before finally releasing him last month.

His talent has earned him a second chance. We’ll see if it pays off for him or the Browns.
