Padel tennis: Trend sport reaches the Upper Rhine – Sportmix

In our region, padel tennis, which is slowly but surely gaining ground in Central Europe from Latin America and Spain, still leads a shadowy existence. In contrast to southern Europe, where these facilities are almost obligatory in every place where tennis is played. This underlines the following fact: in Spain, padel tennis is the second most popular sport in the country with more than 3.5 million players and has replaced the classic game of tennis.

Finding a padel court surrounded by four plexiglass walls in our region is not easy. The TC 1923 Grenzach has a ten by twelve metre court. Here too, the net divides the two halves. The service area is marked out like in tennis. Now this court will be the venue for the first padel tournament on the Upper Rhine.
