A caller reported to authorities that a white male who had been issued a trespassing warning Thursday morning was back on the property and refusing to leave. Officials said this came after officers had already responded to two calls on Thursday involving the same person who had not left the property. The first call, authorities said, was for a courtesy warning, and the second call was for a trespassing warning after management reported the suspect had not left the property.

Later that afternoon, a third call was received from hotel management informing authorities that the man had returned to the property.

According to official information, the man was asked by hotel management to leave the property. However, the reason for this is unclear.

Officers arrived and attempted to arrest the man to investigate the trespassing, but authorities said the man refused to comply with verbal commands and began resisting officers.

During the encounter, officials said, a deputy deployed his taser in an attempt to compel obedience, but to no avail. The man was able to remove the prongs before the suspect complied. He grabbed a gun he had on his property and began fleeing from authorities.

Officials said that during the foot pursuit, officers repeatedly ordered the man to stop and drop his weapon, but the suspect refused to comply and turned toward officers.

Fearing for their lives, one of the officers fired his weapon, hitting the man several times, according to authorities.

The man’s name has not yet been released.

The shooting is being investigated by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in cooperation with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and the Texas Rangers.
