Lithuania triumphed at the 32nd International Fireworks Competition 2024 in Hanover., Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH (HMTG), Story

Under the motto New Nations – New Spirits The 2024 International Fireworks Competition started on May 25th in an impressive season. Five renowned pyrotechnics teams from countries never before represented presented their breathtaking shows on five evenings between May and September in the magnificent setting of the Herrenhausen Gardens.
This year the victory went to the ten-member team SALIUTAS from Lithuania. Second place went to Team Amir Morani Fireworks from India, while Team Privatex-Pyro from Slovakia took third place.

The Lithuanian team took the audience on a spectacular journey into the past, masterfully staged using the latest fireworks technology. Under the title The future plays in the past They transformed the Great Garden into a magnificent 18th century party celebrating the connection between the Hanoverian and British royal families. The focus was on the coronation of Elector George I of Hanover as King of Great Britain in 1714. With colorful effects and floor elements and a golden rain falling from the sky, they transformed this historic event into pyrotechnics. The fireworks were accompanied by the sounds of legendary British bands such as the Beatles and Queen, which also musically highlighted the connection between the two royal families.

With this creative and perfectly executed show, Lithuania not only thrilled the 11,500 spectators who enjoyed the mild late summer evening in the Herrenhausen Gardens on September 7th, but also convinced the 10-member expert jury. The team thus prevailed against strong competition from Malaysia, Estonia, India and Slovakia.

The Vilniaus Saliutas team from Lithuania has been working together since 1996. Originally starting out as a fireworks dealer, they gradually developed into one of the leading providers of professional fireworks services. They finally founded their company in 2013 and have since then looked back on an impressive collection of award-winning shows. “Fireworks are our passion, and the challenge of performing in this venerable garden setting was great.” “We are all the more proud to have won first place,” says project manager Arturas Zumeras.

Jury chairman Robert Merkel summed up this year’s event: “2024 was a year full of new impulses.” The motto New Nations – New Spirits It should be noted that inviting teams from previously unknown fireworks nations brings a breath of fresh air. The quality of the performances was impressive and the decision was extremely close. In Lithuania we have found a worthy winner who put on a strong show.”
