Pokémon GO announces Community Day for October – “How can they do that?”

The October Community Day for Pokémon GO has been announced. This is not exactly causing cheers in the community.

What kind of event is this? A Community Day is a monthly event. There is a Pokémon that is in the spotlight and appears in large numbers and with an increased chance of becoming shiny.

In October, the focus will be on Strawick. The Pokémon comes from the 5th generation and has the Bug and Grass types. It can evolve into Folikon and then into Matrifol.

When does the event take place? Community Day will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

All bonuses for Community Day with Strawickl

Between 14:00 and 17:00 the following bonuses will be active:

• Double the amount of candy when catching Pokémon
• Eggs hatch four times faster when placed in an incubator during the event
• Double chance of getting XL candies when catching Pokémon (from trainer level 31)
• Lure modules and smoke last for 3 hours if you activate them during the event
• Snapshot surprise

In addition, these bonuses will be active between 14:00 and 22:00:

• An additional special exchange
• 50% less stardust cost when trading
• Matrifol learns the instant attack “Dark Claw” when you evolve it

Further content of the Community Days: This Community Day will also offer the opportunity to complete 4* raids between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. If you defeat a Folikon, more Strawickl will appear around the arena for 30 minutes. The raid cannot be completed remotely.

In keeping with the event, you can also complete field research to receive encounters with Strawickl, Stardust, Super Balls, and other rewards.

PokéStop Showcases will also be active. You can participate with Strawickl. Please note the recent changes to PokéStop Showcases.

There is also a special research waiting for you for $1 (approximately €1). The event also includes a hyperbox with various contents and 2 event boxes.

What does the community say about this? The Reddit community is disappointed with the Pokémon selection. They would have preferred a Pokémon that was more suited to Halloween.

• Nothing to do with Halloween…writes trainer Successfuk-Whereas77.
• Paragoni, Nebulak, Zubat or Menki would have been much better. But it is what it isnotes LeftBallLower.
• Irrbis fits much better in Octobersays Magpie King.
• I’m always disappointed when the events in October don’t revolve around ghostswishes Toirtis.
