Shooting for the film “Pongala” with Sreenath Bhasi in the lead role is underway

Sreenath Bhasi’s upcoming film Pongala has been raising curiosity among fans. Written and directed by AB Binil, the film is said to be inspired by true events that took place in the coastal region of Kochi in Kerala. Every update about the film has been raising curiosity among moviegoers.

According to the latest information, the filming has finally begun. Reportedly, the film will be set against the backdrop of the Vypin port and will tell the life story of a group of people associated with the fishing port.

The plot of Pongala revolves around the conflict between two groups set against the backdrop of Vypin port. The Malayalam film is inspired by historical events that happened in the coastal regions of Vypin and Munambam in the past and how they affected the people living nearby. On July 18, the makers created a hype by releasing a title poster unveiled by Fahadh Faasil on social media. The tagline of the film is ‘Liberation of a coast’. The actor also wished the entire team of Pongala all the best.

The caption read, “Sending best wishes to AB Binil, Sreenath Bhasi, Baburaj, Bibin George, Harish Uthaman, Alencier, Roshan Basheer and the entire team of Pongala.” The poster featured a bird’s eye view of the sea with boats anchored on the shore. The film is backed by Donna Thomas under the banner of Global Pictures Entertainment and has been written and directed by AB Binil. The shooting began at Cherai Beach in Kochi, Kerala. Sreenath Bhasi, KGF Studio and Anil Pillai are the co-producers of Pongala.

The film is said to be a mix of action and humor and also stars Baburaj, Bibin George, Appani Sarath, Surya Krishna, Shammi Thilakan, Indrans, Yami Sona, Durga Krishna, Martin Murugan and Praveena.

Sreenath Bhasi was last seen in the blockbuster Manjummel Boys, directed and written by Chidambaram S Poduval. He shared the screen with renowned actors like Soubin Shahir, Balu Varghese, Ganapathi S Poduval, Lal Jr., Deepak Parambol and Abhiram. The film went on to become the highest-grossing film of Malayalam cinema.
