Louise Courvoisier’s debut film was already convincing at the Cannes International Film Festival, and now “Kings of a Summer” is the opening film of the film festival HamburgOn Thursday (7.30 p.m.) the festival started with the Frenchwoman’s comedy, now in its 32nd round. The director, as well as many German actors and other directors, are expected on the red carpet at the start of the ten-day film festival.

In the coming days, around 120 films from many countries will be shown on the screens of the 14 festival cinemas. These include some productions that have already won awards at international film festivals. The closing film on October 5th is planned to be Pedro Almodóvar’s “The Room Next Door” – the winner of the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.

Last year, almost 46,000 people visited the Hamburg Film Festival. The 32nd edition of the festival is the first year under the new festival director Malika Rabahallah.
