Couple wins Grieskirchen tennis city championship title

The UTC Open of the Union Tennis Club Grieskirchen ended with a first victory. Theresa Söllinger crowned herself city champion for the first time in the women’s singles with a 6:3, 6:2 final victory against Carina Ortbauer.

The final in the men’s singles was particularly exciting. After a tough fight against Jonas Unterluggauer, Andreas Söllinger defended his city championship title with a razor-thin 6:1, 5:7, 6:4.

With 118 participants in the women’s, men’s and junior categories, the Grieskirchen Tennis Club set a new record since the introduction of the UTC Open. The award ceremony took place in front of a full house in the club buffet. Mayor Maria Pachner and chairman Heinz Beutelmayr presented prizes and certificates to the most successful players.

“The city championship was a complete success and was rounded off with a tombola thanks to active support from the business community,” summed up chairman Heinz Beutelmayr.
