Insta360 Ace Pro 2 details leaked ahead of launch

We hope you’re not done with action cameras yet, because it looks like another one is about to be unveiled. This time, Insta360 seems to be launching a new device in this category, at least according to the series of leaks recently shared on X by tech insider Igor Bogdanov (aka Quadro_News).

According to the leaks, the product in question is the Ace Pro 2, the successor to the high-end version of the Action camera series which launched last year. The images show the newer device with a largely similar design to its predecessor, complete with a front-facing vertical screen and an LCD display on the back that can be flipped up. An included spec sheet suggests the camera is also water and shock resistant, surviving depths of up to 10 meters, while surviving drops of up to 1.5 meters.

According to Bogdanov, the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 is equipped with a 1/1.3-inch f/2.6 sensor behind its Leica Summarit lens that can capture 50MP photos and videos at up to 8K resolution. It is powered by a dual AI chip system that handles image processing, camera performance, system operation, and firmware functions. The leakster adds that the system also enables improved low-light performance and Active HDR video recording at up to 4K60p.

In addition, the Ace Pro 2 is said to be microSD compatible, have Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, and support removable batteries. Regarding the latter, Bogdanov did not say how long the camera will last on a full charge.

As for the price, the leakster claims that Insta360’s upcoming action camera will reportedly cost US$400 (~RM1,658). However, the release date is still a mystery at this point.
