Nora Fatehi, Raghav, DJ LYAN and more announced for Asian Network Certified in London 2024

BBC Asian Network has announced that Asian Network Certified 2024, the broadcaster’s flagship live music event, will take place at the Electric Ballroom in London on Friday 8 November from 7pm-11.30pm.

The line-up for the popular club night was announced today at the Asian Network Breakfast with Nikita Kanda and includes performances from Asian Network DJs and special guests including international star Nora Fatehi, who is making her UK debut.

Nora Fatehi says: “I can’t wait to perform on BBC Asian Network Certified on November 8th. It’s going to be awesome, we’ve got my music, I’ll be performing live, singing, dancing and sharing new music with you, so I’m looking forward to it. It’s going to be pure Nora feeling, you don’t want to miss it!”

Ticket sales start tomorrow, Friday, September 27th, at 9am.

Hosted by Nikita Kanda and Haroon Rashid from the Asian Network, the event will see audiences in for a surprise and a spectacular evening of live music, dance performances and DJ sets throughout the night. The stage will feature the best of Asian music, from Bollywood to garage, bhangra and British Asian beats, as represented by the network.

I am particularly excited to have Nora Fatehi as the headliner and making her official UK debut alongside some of Asian Network’s amazing DJs and big names from the UK Asian scene. It will be an unforgettable evening as we bring unique sounds and talent to audiences in London and across the UK live on Asian Network!”

Those without a ticket can listen to the event live on the BBC Asian Network from 8pm-11.30pm on Friday 8 November. Asian Network DJs will also bring listeners closer to the build-up and broadcast the behind-the-scenes excitement live from the venue on the BBC Asian Network from 5pm. All the action can be heard live and on demand on BBC Sounds.

The show is available to watch on BBC iPlayer, with highlights available to watch at a later date (date to be announced shortly) on the Asian Network YouTube channel.

Nora Fatehi

Raghav

Raghav is a Canadian-born singer of Indian descent who shot to fame in 2004 with his debut album Storyteller. The album, which included chart hits such as ‘Angel Eyes’, ‘So Confused’, ‘Can’t Get Enough’ and ‘Teri Baaton’, is currently being celebrated on the BBC Asian Network and BBC iPlayer with a special live recording from Maida Vale Studios. Storyteller earned Raghav a MOBO Award and an appearance on the legendary Top of the Pops. In recent years, Raghav has collaborated with popular artists such as AR Rahman, Tesher and DIVINE. His track ‘Teri Baaton’ saw renewed success when it was reworked and used in the Bollywood film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya and went viral across platforms.

AJD

You see the name AJD and know it’s going to be EPIC. He has opened for some of the biggest names in the world including Sidhu Moose Wala and Karan Aujla and was the first Punjabi DJ to play the main stage at Radio 1’s Big Weekend in 2024. Get ready for an extraordinary set like no other. A DJ whose musical knowledge knows no bounds, he can combine the craziest genres live on stage and get the crowd jumping! AJD hosts his own show every Thursday from 6pm on the BBC Asian Network.

DJ AMXN

DJ AMXN is an open format DJ with the musical and technical skills to rock any event. AMXN performs at some of the most luxurious weddings and events around the world and is a resident hip hop brunch DJ, performing at nightclubs such as Tape and Cirque Le Soir. He is a regular guest on the BBC Asian Network and recently landed a residency slot on the network, hosting the September slot for the Asian Network’s ‘Pure Spice: The Takeover’ where he blends the urban sound with desi flavours.

DJ Harpz

DJ Harpz is a UK-born Punjabi music producer and DJ known for mixing traditional Punjabi music with contemporary genres like hip-hop, R&B and UK garage. DJ Harpz’s breakthrough came in 2012 with his track ‘Jaan Nachdi’ and he gained huge recognition by collaborating with artists like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Kanika Kapoor, Amar Sandhu, Ezu, Bohemia and more!

DJ Kizzi

Kizzi is a dynamic DJ known for her electric soundscapes that effortlessly blend dance, club funk and Afrobeats. Her sets are infused with the rich textures of her South Asian heritage, creating a unique listening experience that captivates audiences worldwide. Kizzi has graced stages such as Radio 1’s Big Weekend and opened for artists such as Sukha, Zack Knight and B Young. She joined Asian Network in April 2024 and brings some of the biggest and best party tunes to the network every Saturday from 6pm-9pm.

DJ Limelight and Kan-D-Man

DJ Limelight has played some of the biggest clubs in the world supporting urban and South Asian artists such as Central Cee, Stormzy, Sukha and Chani Nattan and B-Young to name a few. He has had some legendary freestyles with the Asian Network series Hype On The Mic. He specialises in mixing and blending South Asian party bangers with Hip-Hop, RnB and Afrobeats. Limelight has his own show on the BBC Asian Network every Friday night from 9pm and the New Music Show with Kan D Man every Wednesday from 6pm.

London-born Kan-D-Man launched his music career as an MC when he released The Undergraduate, a solo mix CD in 2005. The album received play on the BBC Asian Network, Radio 1 and 1Xtra and secured Kan-D-Man’s musical reputation. Along with DJ Limelight, he formed the group ‘Chronicle Entertainment’, consisting of London’s Asian youth MCs, which helped develop Asian street music. He joined the Asian Network in 2008 and has since promoted and presented many artists from Giggs and Stormzy to British Asian artists such as CAPS, JJ Esko and Muki. As well as hosting the New Music Show with DJ Limelight every Wednesday from 6pm, Kan-D-Man hosts the Pakistani Show every Sunday from 5pm-7pm on the BBC Asian Network, where he highlights Pakistani culture.

DJ LYAN

East London-based music producer and DJ LYAN has produced music for some of the biggest names in Asian music, from Mickey Singh and Jonita Gandhi to Nish and Bambi Bains. His smash hit Desi Trill featuring Malkit Singh and Chip features on the latest FIFA soundtrack.

DJ Henna

DJ Henna carefully combines the best of each genre to create the ultimate energy at each event. DJ Henna is one of the UK’s leading music professionals with an impressive track record of 11 years in the live music industry. During this time, DJ Henna has been able to showcase her talent and skills by performing at various clubs, weddings and corporate events. DJ Henna continues to cement her legacy in the industry by promoting female empowerment and breaking barriers.

Imperial Drummers

Imperial Drummers are a collective of highly skilled Indian percussionists who have gained widespread recognition for their energetic performances and deep-rooted passion for music. At the heart of their artistry is the dhol, a traditional Indian drum known for its powerful, rhythmic beats. The group masterfully blends the rich cultural heritage of dhol drumming with a diverse range of contemporary music genres including bhangra, R&B, hip hop and house music. Their performances have earned them a loyal following both within the South Asian community and beyond.
