The Ryzen 5 9600X3D will likely be the cheapest CPU in the Ryzen 9000X3D series and will primarily serve the cheapest gaming segment. The 3D V-Cache technology adds a large L3 cache in addition to the existing Zen5 cores, which massively increases performance when gaming, something we have already seen with the Ryzen 7000X3D and Ryzen 5000X3D.

The new lineup is expected to consist of a lot of Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs and look like this:

  • Ryzen 9 9950X3D: 16 cores, 145 MB total cache
  • Ryzen 9 9900X3D: 12 cores, 140.8 MB total cache
  • Ryzen 7 9800X3D: 8 cores, 104.5 MB total cache
  • Ryzen 5 9600X3D: 6 cores, 102.5 MB total cache

AMD Ryzen 5 9600X3D: Release Expectations

Rumour has it that the Ryzen 7 9800X3D will be the first of the new X3D chips to hit the marketpossibly as early as late October or early November. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D could follow shortly thereafter, possibly launching late this year or early 2025.

No specific release date has been confirmed for the Ryzen 5 9600X3D, but it will be part of the next-gen family and there are predecessors, which makes its existence relatively certain. However, there is little information so far and expectations for the CPUs are high because gamers prefer these CPUs. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D should deliver even more performance than the Ryzen 7 7800X3D from our first test and the leaks are increasing the anticipation.
