Anyone who has always wanted to know what the Internet owes to a penguin should contact the “Kilug”. The Kinzig Valley Linux User Group is not an association of experts, but is open to everyone who is interested in the operating system.


Almost everyone knows the colorful or blue rectangles, sometimes straight, sometimes distorted, that can be found on most computers. They are the symbol for the Windows operating system, which is installed on many PCs. Very few people know that there is an alternative that is not only free, but for which anyone can – and should – program applications. The operating system is called Linux. It has existed for more than 40 years and is very popular around the world – not only because it is also considered particularly secure.
