Start with «Emmanuelle»Erotic thrillers return to cinemas in the cold season

A French woman in a luxury hotel in Hong Kong, Daniel Craig in the queer community or Nicole Kidman with a younger man – movies are once again about sex.

  • The entertainment magazine “Variety” predicts a “hot autumn”.

  • Several films are about eroticism.

  • The erotic thriller “Emmanuelle” will kick things off at the end of September.

There are two types of guests in the Hong Kong luxury hotel: those who are looking for something and those who are fleeing from something. Emmanuelle (Noémie Merlant, 36) is one of those searching. “She is a woman who does not climax and initiates numerous encounters in this sensual city,” explains director Audrey Diwan at X.

Misted-up windows, spread legs, playing with ice cubes – “Variety” sees the erotic thriller as the starting signal for a hot autumn, which will later be complemented by “Babygirl” with Nicole Kidman (57) and “Queer” with Daniel Craig (56). “Erotic films are back,” rejoices the entertainment magazine.

In Hong Kong, Emmanuelle meets the mysterious Kei, who eludes her. “Is this a game?” she asks. In the trailer, he answers: “Longing is like the ebb and flow of the tide – it builds up and then breaks down again.” The story is based on the 1974 film of the same name, which is based on the novels by Emmanuelle Arsan.

The film Emmanuelle will be in Swiss cinemas from September 26th.

Ex-James Bond sleeps with younger man

In the romantic drama “Queer,” Daniel Craig plays an expat named Lee who flew from New Orleans to Mexico City in the 1940s. There he wanders through clubs and bars. In the trailer, Lee tries to impress a young man with dance moves in front of an audience, but fails and is ridiculed for it.

Later, however, there is supposed to be a sex scene between the ex-Bond actor and a younger man – perhaps with the guy from the trailer?

The film “Queer” has not yet been released in cinemas in Switzerland. However, after the makers’ promotional efforts at the Venice Film Festival, this could still happen.

Ménage à trois with Nicole Kidman

The Venice Film Festival awarded Nicole Kidman the award for best actress for her performance in the film “Babygirl”. The film is also expected to be shown in Swiss cinemas in January. In “Babygirl”, Kidman plays Romy, the boss of a robot company who is married to Jacob (Antonio Banderas, 64). Although the two love each other as passionately as ever, Kidman’s character is attracted to the boastful pretty boy Samuel (Harris Dickinson, 28, “Iron Claw”).
