Eintracht Frankfurt News: Frankfurt loses victory at the start of the Europa League

Eintracht Frankfurt carelessly squandered a victory that was believed to be certain at the start of the Europa League season. You can read the whole news here on news.de.

Eintracht Frankfurt has a certain victory at the start of the Europa League-Season frivolously playful. The Hessian one football-Bundesliga team had to settle for a disappointing 3:3 (1:1) in the home game against Czech club Viktoria Pilsen despite a two-goal lead. This means that Eintracht initially only has one point in the newly introduced league phase of the competition. It was Frankfurt’s first appearance in the Europa League 28 months after Sevilla’s final triumph.

Hugo Ekitiké gave Eintracht the lead in the 38th minute in front of 56,500 spectators, before Pavel Sulc (41st) equalized for the guests shortly before half-time. Junior substitutes Dina Ebimbe (62′) and Rasmus Kristensen (67′) gave Frankfurt a 3-1 lead. But late goals from Prince Kwabena Adu (87th) and Václav Jemelka (90th + 3) were enough for the guests to get a point.
