Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mominul Haque lead Bangladesh to 74/2 at lunch in Kanpur

India vs Bangladesh Live Score, 2nd Test Day 1: Pacer Akash Deep struck twice in cloudy skies and failed in both openers but Bangladesh fought back through skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto to reach 74 for two at noon on the opening day of the second Test due to wet outfield, here on Friday. To take advantage of the pace-friendly conditions, skipper Rohit Sharma opted to bowl and retained all three pacers in the playing eleven.

Deep (2/14) impressed with his consistent length balls that bounced and moved away, leaving batters no choice but to take a safe approach.

Shanto (28 shots, 4s-6) fought with positive intent, if not combativeness, to ensure Bangladesh did not lose. At the break he had Mominul Haque (17 from 48) for the company.

Earlier, India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl in the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur today. Hosts India, who lead the two-match series 1-0, have fielded an unchanged team.

However, Bangladesh have made some changes with Khaled Ahmed and Taijul Islam replacing Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana.

The toss and start of the game were delayed due to a wet outfield.
