The open-world shooter The Day Before has gone down in history as one of the most spectacular Steam flops of all time. Now developer Fntastic is back and asking you to invest money in a new game. You can watch the trailer above this article.

After The Day Before: Studio will finance new game

Developer Fntastic has immortalized itself in the minds of many players with the drama surrounding The Day Before. The end-time shooter was in the meantime the most wanted game on Steamonly to be completely withdrawn from circulation within a few days after the completely disappointing release.

Now the development studio is back: On Twitter, Fntastic asks the community for a second chance and at the same time presents a new Kickstarter campaign. It’s working on one New game called Escape Factory.

The new project differs from the infamous The Day Before in pretty much every way, at least at first glance. It is a Physics based multiplayer gamein which you and up to 8 players try to fly out of strange space factories. (Source: Kickstarter)

The game reminds with its playable characters and the weird obstacle course removed from Fall Guys, but here you have to work together in co-op mode.

You can download a demo on Steam – and add the game to your wish list for some, potentially opening up old wounds could.

Fntastic: The problem with second chances

Honestly, who doesn’t like one? Glorious and heartwarming comeback story? If Fntastic actually manages to somehow get on the right track after the absolute disaster shooter The Day Before, it would quickly be Hollywood-worthy.

But the problem is: This is not about a lovable character who fights his way back to life after a stroke of fate. It’s about Fntastic. A developer who duped players with The Day Before. It was deceived and tricked and the shitstorm that hit the studio on release day was completely justified.

Second chances are wonderful and I would Individual employees at Fntastic under no circumstances be denied on a human level.

But as a company, Fntastic simply doesn’t deserve any further trust. Especially not with a crowdfunding campaign in which players have to advance money. The Nothing to do with second chances. That’s just audacious.
