“The Walking Dead” universe is alive and well, even if most of its inhabitants are not.

With six spin-offs and counting, characters from the original series will live on in new content even after the main series ends in 2022. One of the most popular original characters, Daryl Dixon (Norma Reedus), has been named series star with 2023’s The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, in which Daryl washes up on the shores of France and sets out on a journey to find out how and why.

Originally titled The Walking Dead: Daryl & Carol, the six-episode first season was set to feature the character Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), but she was later removed from the program due to filming conflicts. Now, however, Carol is back and will appear alongside her old friend in the new season, aptly titled “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol.”

As Rick and Michonne go on their own post-apocalyptic romantic adventure in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, Daryl and Carol will search for answers and each other in their own story, even with the Atlantic Ocean between them.
