Bundesliga, 5th matchday

Saturday conference in the live ticker

RB Leipzig – FC Augsburg -:-

SC Freiburg – FC St. Pauli -:-

VfL Wolfsburg – VfB Stuttgart -:-

Mainz 05 – 1. FC Heidenheim -:-

Borussia Mönchengladbach – Union Berlin -:-

Bor. Mönchengladbach – 1. FC Union Berlin (Saturday, 3:30 p.m.)

Situation: The Foals started the season poorly and only got one win from four games. The opening program was also a difficult one with Leverkusen, Stuttgart and Frankfurt. The capital club is still unbeaten.

Statistics: Gladbach is something like Berlin’s favorite opponent. Coach Seoane’s team was only able to win one game out of ten Bundesliga duels.

Personal: Union defender Rothe is available to the Berliners after his foot injury. At Borussia, Nicolas is back in goal for the injured Omlin, and Honorat is also still missing with a torn muscle fiber.

Special: Siebatcheu, who was loaned to Gladbach last season, is coming back to Borussia Park.

FSV Mainz 05 – 1. FC Heidenheim (Saturday, 3:30 p.m.)

Situation: Mainz is on the rise after its first win of the season. The Heidenheimers’ dream start was followed by two clear defeats in Dortmund and against Freiburg.

Statistics: Both teams met each other twice. In the previous season there was a Heidenheim win and a draw.

Personal: Mainz has to do without the suspended Amiri. Heidenheim probably doesn’t have to complain about a loss, but offensive man Scienza was a bit injured recently.

Special: The 1-0 win in Mainz on December 16, 2023 was the first Bundesliga away win in Heidenheim’s club history.

RB Leipzig – FC Augsburg (Saturday, 3:30 p.m.)

Situation: After two recent zero numbers, RB Leipzig is challenged against FC Augsburg. FCA is still goalless away from home and goes down 4-0 in Heidenheim.

Statistics: The last clean sheet against Augsburg was at home in March 2019, before that in October 2018 at the Fuggerstadt team. Since then, RB has always scored a goal against FCA and recently won all five Bundesliga games at home, most recently 3-0. Augsburg have only won against RB once, that was 1-0 at home in September 2017.

Personally: Kampl is still out at RB. The use of Elmas is questionable after a blow in training. At Augsburg, striker Essende is missing due to a red card.

Special: Leipzig has been unbeaten in 15 Bundesliga games across the season and could set a club record with another point win.

SC Freiburg – FC St. Pauli (Saturday, 3:30 p.m.)

Situation: The Freiburg team got off to a strong start under their new head coach Schuster and have so far picked up nine out of twelve possible points. Promoted Stories St. Pauli fought for their first point after returning to the Bundesliga in a 0-0 draw against Leipzig last Sunday.

Statistics: St. Pauli has achieved four wins and three draws in the eight Bundesliga duels with SC so far – it is the best record against a current club in the upper house.

Personally: The last injured defender Rosenfelder is available again at SC. At St. Pauli, of all people, Freiburg’s Wagner loan has arrived.

Special: There could be a direct duel between the Eggestein brothers. Maximilian is about to make his 100th Bundesliga game for Freiburg, Johannes has been under contract with St. Pauli since 2022.

VfL Wolfsburg – VfB Stuttgart (Saturday, 3:30 p.m.)

Situation: VfB is playing with a lot of self-confidence after the furious 5-1 win against Dortmund. Wolfsburg urgently needs points after three defeats in the first four games.

Statistics: Wolfsburg only lost two of the last 15 home games against Stuttgart in the Bundesliga and cup. One of them was only in March of this year (2:3).

Personally: VfL is still missing seven professionals. He still can’t get his new team started. Stuttgart will again have to be without defender Zagadou, who has a knee injury, for a long time.

Special: The coaches Hasenhüttl and Hoeneß know each other well. Both were once head and youth coaches at RB Leipzig at the same time.
