FC 25 RTTK upgrades explained: When and how RTTK cards increase in EA Sports FC 25

The UECL, UEL, UECL and UWCL have already started and of course there is the corresponding accompanying event – Road to the Knockouts – also in EA Sports FC 25. If you already took part in the RTTK event last year, there is little for you Something new, because the process is more or less identical. This means: EA selects players from the teams taking part in the four competitions and gives them a first improved special card (initial upgrade) at the start of the event. This RTTK card can receive further upgrades if the professionals or their teams meet certain requirements (victories, goals in matches, qualification for the knockout round) in their respective competitions. We will explain to you below how the upgrades work in detail.

When will RTTK players be promoted to FC 25?

RTTK players will receive an upgrade on their FC 25 RTTK cards when:

• the team of an RTTK professional achieves 3 wins in the respective league phase (+1 OVR).
• the team of an RTTK professional scores 1 goal (or more) in four matches (+1 OVR & roll ++).
• An RTTK player’s team finishes the respective league in the top 2 or a UWCL RTTK player achieves victory in the group phase (PlayStyle + & Role ++).

When will RTTK players not receive an upgrade in FC 25?

Now that all UEFA competitions have been overhauled and no longer function as groups but as separate leagues, many of the well-known reasons for “not upgrading” have simply disappeared. For example, teams can no longer qualify for the next lower competition through third place and can no longer be eliminated early. This leaves the only reason why an RTTK professional cannot get an improvement in FC 25 if he changes clubs.

When will RTTK cards be upgraded in EA Sports FC 25?

If an RTTK professional fulfills an upgrade condition in the respective UEFA competition, his RTTK card in FC 25 will always be upgraded at the end of each week (Friday) when all matches on a match day in the UEFA competitions have ended. There is no exact time, but the improvements usually occur shortly after the last match of the day has ended.

What is the Top 2 in the League upgrade and how does it improve RTTK cards?

At last year’s RTTK event there was still the “qualification upgrade” (for the knockout phase), but this has become more or less obsolete due to the revision of the UEFA competitions. Instead, the FC 25 RTTK event now has the “Top 2 in the League” upgrade. It’s the final upgrade that RTTK pros can get, giving them an or improved PlayStyle + as well as a new or improved Player Role ++.

For the “Top 2 in the League” upgrade, players or their respective teams must make it into the top two teams in the league (UCL / UEL / UECL). The only exception is the women in the UWCL, because the revised rules will not come until next season (2025/26). Accordingly, the women must win their respective group in the group stage in order to receive the “Top 2 in the League” upgrade.

The decisive factor for improvement is the performance of the team, not the individual performance of the RTTK professional. The upgrade occurs even if the professional does not actively take part in the matches but sits on the substitute bench. The “Top 2 in the League” upgrade is only possible once and, at least in theory, is independent of the other possible upgrades, even if goals and victories are of course the prerequisites for this.

RTTK Goal Line Upgrade: How does the “1+ Goals in 4 Matches” improvement work in FC 25?

There was no “score X goals in X matches” condition in the last RTTK events, but this requirement is known from numerous promos. To receive this improvement, a team must score at least one goal in four different games in the respective league – that is, four games and at least one goal in each of them. More goals are of course nice, but they do not bring any advantages in terms of this improvement. It’s no use if a team scores four goals in a match.

The 1+ Goals in 4 Matches upgrade is the second/middle of the three possible RTTK upgrades that a Pro can receive at the event. Not all RTTK pros will receive this improvement, but those who do will receive an increase in their overall rating according to the Inform rules as well as a new or improved player role ++.

To understand it again: All of a team’s goals count for improvement; it is not necessary for an RTTK professional to score one goal in four matches (that would probably be too much to ask). This means that a professional can receive the improvement even if he has not actively stood on the pitch. Like all RTTK upgrades, the Gate Row upgrade can only be done once per professional.

RTTK Winning Line Upgrade: This is how the “3 Wins” improvement works

The previous “win row upgrade” is also available in the FC 25 RTTK event, although the condition is now “3 wins”. But in the end it remains the same. Proverb: In order to receive the improvement, the RTTK professionals or their teams must win at least three games in the respective UEFA competition. It is the team performance that counts, not the individual performance of the RTTK professional. As a result, the professional can receive the 2-win improvement even if he warms the bench in every match.

The “3 Siege” is the simplest improvement that almost all RTTK professionals should achieve and increases a player’s overall rating according to the Inform rules. Each pro can only get the upgrade once, providing more than three wins, but no benefits (at least with regards to the “3 wins” upgrade).
