  • NYC Cop Charged for Falisfying Police Report After Striking Motorcyclist in Police Car

BRONX, NY – A New York Police Department officer has been charged in two separate indictments involving an alleged cover-up of a patrol car accident and an assault during an arrest, Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark announced Thursday.

Officer Kenny Victoria, 34, assigned to the 44th Precinct, is charged with falsifying a police report after a patrol car struck a motorcyclist last year and for allegedly attacking a suspect with a police radio during an April arrest . He was arraigned in Bronx Supreme Court before Judge Brenda Rivera and is scheduled to appear again on Dec. 3.

In the first indictment, Victoria was accused of attempting to offer a false instrument, falsifying business records and official misconduct. According to the investigation, on December 16, 2023, Victoria allegedly filed a false collision report after a police car he was in struck a motorcyclist near Monroe Avenue and East 173rd Street. Video surveillance reportedly contradicted Victoria's account and showed the police vehicle plowing into the motorcyclist, who suffered a broken leg.

In a second incident, Victoria was charged with second- and third-degree assault and official misconduct. Prosecutors allege Victoria hit a suspect in the head with his police radio on April 30, 2024, after the man was subdued by another officer. The suspect had to be treated with staples for a head injury.

District Attorney Clark said in a statement, "His alleged actions constitute a breach of public trust and are damaging to the Shield."
