National Council election 2024: Agnes Sirkka Prammer is running as the top candidate for the Green Linz-Land

National Council election 2024: Agnes Sirkka Prammer is running as the top candidate for the Green Linz-Land

Why are you running for the National Council?
It’s about continuing the path we’ve started. I will contribute to this with all my strength, experience and know-how. Thanks to the Greens in government, more climate protection and energy transition have been implemented in recent years than ever before. From billions for clean energy to the successful climate ticket model. This federal government has also achieved other things that others have not achieved, from health care reform to the abolition of cold progression to the end of official secrecy. A lot has been achieved, a lot still needs to be done to keep Austria on a climate-friendly and liberal path for the future. And that is only possible with strong Greens. It makes a difference, were governed and shaped a country.

What issues are you committed to?
The climate crisis remains the greatest challenge of our time. This hot summer shows once again that the consequences of the climate crisis have long since reached Upper Austria. How we act now determines how future generations live. If we fail, they will end up with a living environment that is unrecognizable. Effective climate protection can only be achieved with the Greens. And we have to expand this further. This also means a faster energy and mobility transition and effective soil protection. It must finally stop that our valuable meadows and fields are being covered with concrete and our food security is at the same time.

“Oppose ourselves against the right-wing forces”

The danger threatens not only from the consequences of the climate crisis, but also from the advance of populism and sharp right-wing forces, their anger and fear-mongering. We oppose this. With courage and confidence. With a strengthening of the democratic constitutional state, the protection of personal freedoms and a clear commitment to a liberal society. Greens or FPÖ in government. This determines the direction of Austria.
