Updated [Sat 28th Sep, 2024 13:45 BST]:

There have been all sorts of rumors about the Switch’s “successor,” and now another person has spoken out.

The latest claims about Nintendo’s next-generation hardware come from Ruben Mercado – the CEO of video game accessory maker Blade. In a recent podcast interview with Spanish website Vandal, Mercado reportedly believes that the new device appears to be “finished” and “ready to use” (via Metro).

Additionally, the executive said Blade already has access to near-final versions of the hardware and reportedly expects the new Nintendo system could launch simultaneously worldwide in March or April next year.

He also believes that the timing of the release of the new system could depend on Nintendo’s financial results for the current year – and claims that it could launch in March if sales do not meet the company’s expectations, or at the start of the new one Fiscal year in April 2025, if the results are positive.

Mercado also addressed some of them other Rumors about the “Switch 2” such as the magnetic Joy-Con controllers. He suggests that they have a “locking system” to keep them connected to the system. The peripheral maker also says its current range of analog stick covers will not be compatible with the new device because the new sticks are different.

Even though this is coming from the CEO of an accessories manufacturer, everything here should be treated with caution. And remember, we’re still waiting for the official announcement of the Nintendo Switch “successor” – the announcement will be made “this fiscal year,” which ends in March 2025.

A rumor in August of this year suggested that Nintendo’s Switch successor would not be released in the current fiscal year.
