Kim Richards is ‘really bad’ after drug relapse, psychiatric detention: report

Kim Richards is reportedly struggling after she suffered a relapse and was admitted to the psychiatric ward earlier this month.

Insiders told People Friday that the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 60, is in “a really bad place” as her family considers next steps.

“The family is tight-lipped about details, but from what little they have said it appears they have reached another breaking point with her,” a source told the medium, emphasizing that “this has happened before.”

The insider noted that Richards’ “alcohol addiction has been an ongoing source of conflict” – particularly with her sister Kyle Richards, 55.

“It’s weighing particularly heavily on Kyle, who has always been the family’s concern,” the source shared.

According to the outlet, Kyle has done her best to “take care of Kim” but never knows whether she’s “helping” or “enabling” her older sister.

Additionally, Kyle and his sister Kathy Hilton, 65, have reportedly been “financing” the struggling star’s lifestyle.

The source told People that Kyle is “torn” over the situation but “doesn’t know what else to do.”

“It’s the same cycle: chaos until there’s an incident that sets Kim back on track, then brief calm as they repair their relationship, then the drinking starts again, Kim apologizes, Kyle begs her for help, etc . etc.,” they continue.

According to TMZ, Kyle and Kim got into an argument earlier this week over Kim’s drinking issues.

Officers were reportedly called to one of Kyle’s homes in the Encino area, where Kim was staying.

Kyle reportedly told authorities that she didn’t want Kim in the house because she had been cut off from her family in hopes of getting her sober.

However, officers only responded by “keeping the peace” and no crime was committed.

The incident came after Kim was jailed for 72 hours in early September for behaving “incoherently” at a Hilton hotel.

When officers arrived at the scene, Kim reportedly refused to leave, forcing police to place her on a 5150 hold.

Kim was a full-time cast member on RHOBH from Seasons 1 to 5. In the first season, Kyle famously portrayed her older sister as an alcoholic.

Although the former Bravo star entered rehab in 2011, her drug problems have been brought up repeatedly over the years.
