The still unbeaten 1. FC Magdeburg remains close on the heels of league leaders Fortuna Düsseldorf in the 2nd Bundesliga. Coach Christian Titz’s team won 2-1 (1-1) at Darmstadt 98 on Saturday (September 28, 2024) and climbed to second place in the table with 15 points.

Livan Burcu, who started for the ill Baris Atik on his 20th birthday, and Connor Krempicki scored the goals for FCM (22nd/48th) in front of 17,311 spectators in the Böllenfalltor stadium. Isac Lidberg had previously given the home team the lead (11th). The Magdeburgers ended the party with ten men after a yellow-red card for Marcus Mathisen (73′).
