Electric car under 20,000 euros in Germany: Leapmotor is off to a blistering start

Electric car under 20,000 euros in Germany: Leapmotor is off to a blistering start

(jump engine)The T03 from Leapmotor is coming to the German market at an attractive price.

The Chinese electric car manufacturer Leapmotor has not only launched a new website for Germany, but also announced what the new C10 and T03 models will cost. The T03 in particular is sold at a really competitive price.

Leading car manufacturers agree. In order for e-mobility to become attractive to the masses, electric vehicles are needed that cost a maximum of 20,000 euros. The Chinese car manufacturer Leapmotor International, a joint venture between Leapmotor and the European manufacturer Stellantis, is now setting good examples and is clearly undercutting this magical limit with the T03. The small car, which is now going on sale in Germany, is available from just 18,900 euros. The C10, which will be available from October, also has an attractive price.

Small car at a low price

As Leapmotor reports, the T03 is a compact electric car from the A segment, but offers an interior like a car from the B segment. The car has an 8-inch instrument panel and a 10-inch center console with navigation. WiFi, 4G and app control are also on board. Front and side airbags for the driver and front passenger ensure safety. A total of six airbags were installed. Level 2 driving assistance systems were also considered, including adaptive cruise control, a front collision warning and an autonomous emergency braking system. Also available are a lane warning and a lane keeping assistant as well as an intelligent speed assistant, a blind spot warning and a drowsiness warning. According to the manufacturer, three cameras and five radar devices make the T03 one of the safest cars in its class.

But it’s not just the internal values of the 3.62 meter long city car with an adjustable trunk that can be up to 880 liters that are convincing. The 95 hp car accelerates from 0 to 50 km/h in five seconds and has a WLTP range of up to 265 kilometers thanks to a 37.3 kWh battery. Would you like a little extra? How about a large panoramic roof with electric sun protection?

SUV at a fair price

Car buyers with a little more money might consider the C10 electric SUV. The car, which will go on sale in the “Style” version in October, will be available from 36,400 euros. The car is based on the Leap3.0 architecture and was built as the first Leap model for the global market. The car has 218 hp and accelerates from 0 to 50 in 3.9 seconds. The WLTP range is 420 kilometers. The 69.9 kWh battery can be charged with electricity for a further 200 kilometers in 30 minutes. This car also has an extensive comfort package with an infotainment system, electrically adjustable front seats or a HiFi system with twelve speakers. But of course there is already a lot of competition in this price range against which the C10 first has to prove itself.

Large dealer network

So that interested parties can admire the two cars not only on the website, Leapmotor International will use Stellantis’ sales network. By the end of 2024, 350 sales outlets will be available to customers nationwide.
