WTA Beijing: Golubic misses coup

Viktorija Golubic (WTA 96) dramatically missed the third round of the 1000 tournament in Beijing. The Zurich woman lost to the much better ranked Croatian Donna Vekic (WTA 20) in three sets 6:4, 6:7 (3:7), 4:6. Golubic had started the game better and was leading 6:4, 3:2 when the game was interrupted due to rain. After the break, with the score at 6:5, she had the opportunity to secure her place in the third round on her own serve. But she gave up the serve without winning a point. In the 3rd set everything remained in line until 4:4, after a break Vekic used the 3rd match point.
