According to The Sun newspaper, these posts were met with hundreds of messages from fans of the popular soft drink, with one writing: “They seem to be discontinuing Old Jamaica Ginger Beer… haven’t we suffered enough as a people?!”

Others took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express skepticism about the apparent removal.

One user said: “So this Old Jamaica Ginger Beer goodbye thing is just a fancy clickbait marketing campaign, right?”

Another added: “The demise of Old Jamaica Ginger Beer had better be a marketing stunt because I can’t go the rest of my life without the number one premium soft drink!”

“Worst thing that ever happened that day, if so.”

However, Hernán Cerdeiro, chief coordinating officer and campaign manager of SAMY Alliance, the creative agency behind the social media campaign, told MediaShotz: “The chance to retire a brand was something we enjoyed, simply because we “We were able to work on it.” It had never happened so publicly before.

“We wanted to give Old Jamaica’s loyal customers one last chance to say goodbye, take the last sip and watch the can ride off into the sunset.”
