A shooting Saturday at a bar in Montgomery County left a Union Springs man dead

A Union Springs man died in a shooting early Saturday morning at a music venue and bar in Montgomery County.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said shots were fired at 3:30 a.m. at Range 231 N., 3250 Wetumpka Highway. The shooting victim, identified as Cardell O’Brian, 27, was taken to Baptist South Hospital before sheriff’s deputies arrived and was later pronounced dead, MCSO confirmed.

Details of the investigation — including whether there is a suspect or where and how the shooting occurred at 231 Range Range N. — are not being released, according to the sheriff’s office.

“The investigation is ongoing and we are not releasing any of this information at this time,” an MCSO spokesperson said.
