Actor Tommy Filehner-Wachtler, a member of the Tiroler Landestheater ensemble since the 2023/24 season, reads his favorite passage from “Come, Sweet Death”. In his interpretation, the story of two competing rescue associations takes on a Swiss-like feel. The focus of the chapter is on a breakneck flashing of blue lights and improving the order situation through all sorts of tricks. Corpses litter the streets of Vienna, and the paramedics’ jargon is tough. “You smelled how drunk the war was?” asks one of his colleagues in the speeding car. “Who? The doctor?” answers the other. Fischler-Wachtler balances in a multi-faceted manner on a wave of abuse and crime.
