Rain affects the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park

For the second straight day, rain marred celebrations at the Global Citizen Festival on Central Park’s Great Lawn on Saturday.

But at the 12th annual Central Park affair, the crowd shook off the chills. Despite the gray day, the mood was more sunny than damp as 60,000 people gathered for a party aimed at fighting extreme poverty.

As always, this year’s event – hosted by Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman – was as much about the music as it was the message.

“Central Park is electric tonight,” said Jackman, determined to defy the weather gods that made this another challenge to the elements as he introduced the festival.

“They drive change – and this change can happen step by step.”

In fact, despite all the rain ponchos and bathrobes and the presenters with umbrellas, the show – and the movement – went on.

“Beautiful Things” breakout Benson Boone opened the show, soaking up the moment in the rain, with his ’70s porno stuff and shaggy hair giving Freddie Mercury and Shawn Mendes vibes.

Meanwhile, Jelly Roll brought some country to the big city, splitting his performance between headlining Madison Square Garden on Friday night and appearing as the musical guest on the 50th season premiere of “Saturday Night Live.”

And the line-up of artists reflected the global nature of the festival, from British phenomenon Raye to Lisa from South Korean girl group Blackpink.

Meanwhile, the Latin music world was represented by Puerto Rican sensation Rauw Alejandro.

Then there was Doja Cat, who painted the city red instead of gray.

And Post Malone — who hit the country tour this year with his chart-topping album “F-1 Trillion” and No. 1 single “I Had Some Help” — headlined the festivities.
