Indian shooters started their ISSF Junior World Championships (Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun) in Peru on a high note, winning team gold in the men’s and women’s 10m air pistol competition, although a potential top podium spot in the individual category after a year Marksman was deducted two points because he reported late for the final. Choudhary and Singh had previously made it to the individual finals as third and fourth in the qualifying round. Choudhary shot 580 and Singh 578 but missed out on the individual medals, finishing sixth and eighth respectively.

Luca Joldea of ​​Romania won the gold medal, while Hsieh Hsiang-Chen of Chinese Taipei took the silver medal. Nelavalli finished ninth in the qualification with a score of 574.

The combination of Kanishka Dagar, Lakshita and Anjali Chaudhary totaled 1708 points and secured the junior women’s 10m air pistol team gold. They were one point ahead of Azerbaijan and four points ahead of bronze medalists Ukraine.

Dagar also reached the individual final in third place with a score of 573, along with Kanika, who also shot the same score but with fewer inner tens, securing the fifth qualifying spot.

In the final, Kanika won bronze with a score of 217.6 while Dagar came eighth.

Chen Yu-Chun of Chinese Taipei won gold while Manja Slak of Slovakia took silver.
