Two have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in his 30s

At 3.35pm on Saturday September 28, police were called to reports of a disturbance at an address on Brook Lane Rudheath.

Officers attended the scene and a man was found on the property with serious injuries.

Paramedics attended the scene along with the North West Air Ambulance, but unfortunately, despite the best efforts of everyone involved, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim is said to be in his late 30s.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialists.

An investigation into the incident has been launched and Brook Lane is currently cordoned off by police.

Two people, a 41-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man, were arrested at the address on suspicion of murder.

Detective Inspector Eleanor Atkinson, who is leading the investigation, said: “I understand the concern this incident is likely to cause and I would like to reassure residents that this is likely to be an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.”

“Two people have been arrested and are currently in police custody.

“To ensure safety, patrols have been increased in the area and a cordon is currently in place at the scene of the accident.

“As part of the investigation we are interested in hearing from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and may have observed anything suspicious.

“The same goes for anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage that could assist with the investigation.”
