Glasgow: Two people charged with human trafficking offences

The arrests were made on Friday following an investigation by the Scottish Police Greater Glasgow Human Trafficking Unit.

A 28-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

Detective Inspector Grant Currie, from Glasgow’s Human Trafficking Unit, said: “We are committed to working with our partners to pursue those involved in this type of crime, with a strong focus on protecting those who may are at risk of exploitation.”

“Information from people in our communities is vital for us to identify those involved in committing these crimes against vulnerable people in our society.

“I would urge anyone with information or concerns about exploitation of any kind to contact Police Scotland anonymously on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
