Carlos Alcaraz defeats Tallon Griekspoor to reach China Open 2024 quarterfinals

Carlos Alcaraz has no chance in the first set

Carlitos wanted to win the first set quickly and give Griekspoor no options. He first won his first serve game and got the first break of the match on the second break point.

Then Alcaraz chained together another 3 games in a row (including a break in white at 0-3) to virtually take a set with 5-0 on the first set scoreboard. Griekspoor managed to win at least one game on his serve, but Carlitos did not fail to win the first set, which ended with a resounding 6-1.

Alcaraz doesn’t let the level drop in the second set

In the second set, Tallon Griekspoor initially won his first service game, but Carlos Alcaraz wanted to successfully seal his victory. The Spaniard first broke his opponent’s serve when the score was 1:1. After a game to zero to confirm the break and make it 1:3, he dealt the Dutchman another hard blow with his serve.
