Sunday evening schedule at the Swiss Darts Trophy 2024, when the newest European Tour champion will be crowned in Basel

Sunday evening schedule at the Swiss Darts Trophy 2024, when the newest European Tour champion will be crowned in Basel

The schedule is considered the final European Tour and the last before the World Grand Prix at the Swiss Darts Trophy comes to an end. The last meeting is just around the corner in Basel.

This is the first time that the PDC is hosting a tournament in Switzerland. At the beginning of the year, Euro Tour tournaments were held in Belgium, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Hungary. Another event will be completed later this year in the Czech Republic. It will be completed this evening.

In the first quarterfinal, Josh Rock meets Luke Humphries in a game that, at least on paper, should not have happened. Rock faced Rob Cross and swept Voltage aside in the opening game of the session. Although Humphries was not the betting favorite against Luke Littler despite being world number 1 and world champion, there is a lot of excitement surrounding the teenager.

But both Rock and Humphries have taught these people a lesson and it’s an outstanding quarter-final that could perhaps produce the title winner. Then Martin Schindler and Raymond van Barneveld face each other. Again, games that slightly went against the script. Schindler won 6:4 against Stephen Bunting. While Van Barneveld, who narrowly escaped yesterday after a big lead against Ricardo Pietreczko, came back to prevail a little more easily against Ross Smith today.

Callan Rydz then has a game with big implications as he takes on James Wade. Nathan Aspinall will be watching with bated breath as he plays for the European Championship unless Rydz reaches the final. So all eyes will be on him when he takes on James Wade, before Ryan Searle completes the line-up against Daryl Gurney, who beat Aspinall. Who will later be crowned champion in Basel? The semi-finals and the final follow.

TV and live stream

The Swiss Darts Trophy will be broadcast on PDC TV. As is usual with Euro Tour tournaments, the Swiss Darts Trophy consists of three tournament days. Afternoon sessions begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, while evening sessions begin at 6:00 p.m. On Sunday the sessions start at 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The first round takes place on Friday. The 16 Order of Merit qualifiers and the winners of the various qualifying tournaments will then appear. The top 16 seeded players will enter the tournament in the second round on Saturday. The conclusion of the tournament will take place on Sunday, starting with the third round in the afternoon session. The quarter-finals, semi-finals and final follow on Sunday evening.

Distribution of prize money

This Euro Tour tournament will see prize money totaling £175,000 shared between the 48 participants. You will receive at least £1,250 entry fee. The 16 best seeded players who take part in the Swiss Darts Trophy from the second round onwards will receive £2,500 in any case.

Like the 16 Order of Merit qualifiers who start in the first round, they must win their first game in order for the prize money to count towards the world rankings and the other rankings. The winner of the Swiss Darts Trophy ultimately goes home with the main prize of £30,000.
