Death Stranding 2: Lots of new videos delight fans and the photo mode looks wild

With a special stage livestream for the Tokyo Game Show, Kojima Productions’ open-world action-adventure Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has come into focus again.

During the 90-minute presentation there was a lot of new material on the sequel to see.

Characters, gameplay and photo mode

Hideo Kojima showed off previously unseen scenes from the game, including footage focusing on Elle Fanning’s character Tomorrow and Shioli Kutsuna’s Rainy, among others.

The focus here is also on the Japanese speakers. As previously announced, Mad Max creator George Miller also makes an appearance in the game, playing the character Tarman.

The game’s photo mode is particularly wild, especially with regard to the animations. Here you can see Lea Seydoux’s characters as well as those of Fanning and Kutsuna, who poses for you:

Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn returns as Heartman. On stage, he spoke about how much he appreciated Kojima and stated that he often spoke to him about politics, philosophy, family and love.

The clothing brand Acronym has announced some new, real jackets that will also be included in Death Stranding 2. You can put these around your shoulders if it’s too warm for you, and you don’t have to tie them around your waist.

Singer Daichi Mirua, who has written music for numerous anime, also performed the song Horizon Dreamer from the game. This will be available on Spotify and other platforms from September 30, 2024.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach was announced in December 2022 and is scheduled for release in 2025. However, an exact date has not yet been set.

What is certain, however, is that you will have to do without Mads Mikkelsen in the sequel. The actor will not be in the second part, as Kojima confirmed earlier this year.
