Brunswick man dies in rollover crash on Pleasant Street

BRUNSWICK — A fatal car accident occurred late Saturday evening at the intersection of Pleasant Street and Range Road, killing a local man.

According to the Brunswick Police Department, officers and firefighters responded to reports of a rollover accident around 10:17 p.m. When they arrived, they found a vehicle on its side with significant damage.

The initial investigation indicates the car was traveling on Range Road before it sped through the yard of a residence and overturned onto Pleasant Street.

The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, was thrown from the vehicle.

Although the Brunswick Fire Department attempted life-saving measures, the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have withheld the victim’s name pending notification of next of kin.

A further update is expected once the family has been informed.

Following the incident, a portion of Pleasant Street was closed to one lane for several hours while investigators worked to reconstruct the accident.

The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing and Brunswick police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
