1 person was fatally shot at DeFremery Park in Oakland

(KRON) – One person was fatally shot at the McClymonds Alumni Action Committee reunion picnic at DeFremery Park on Saturday evening, according to Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao.

The shooting occurred in the 1600 block of Adeline Street.

1 was hospitalized after a shooting Sunday morning in Antioch

“I am deeply saddened that a shooting occurred at the McClymonds Alumni Action Committee reunion picnic at DeFremery Park. We will not tolerate this kind of violence, especially at a peaceful annual meeting,” Thao continued. “My heart goes out to the victim’s family and the entire McClymonds and West Oakland community. The ceasefire partners are actively working to prevent further violence.”
