Who will Alabama football play next? What you should know about Vanderbilt

Alabama football has posted the best win in college football so far this season, earning it the No. 1 spot in the current AP Top 25.

The Crimson Tide dominated the first half against Georgia on Saturday. Jalen Milroe led the way with his arms and legs, scoring in both offensive areas. This gave Alabama a 30-7 lead at halftime.

Then the Bulldogs fought back in the second half. The Crimson Tide eventually lost the lead late in the fourth quarter. But Ryan Williams made sure the Alabama offense didn’t stop. Immediately afterward, he caught a stunning 75-yard touchdown catch to give the Crimson Tide the lead back. Then freshman cornerback Zabien Brown snagged an interception in the end zone to seal the 41-34 victory over the Bulldogs.

Now Alabama hits the road again this week to face Vanderbilt. The Crimson Tide will look to repeat their performance from the first half of the Georgia game against the Commodores. The game is scheduled for 3:15 p.m. CT.

Alabama (4-0, 1-0 SEC) travels to Nashville to play Vanderbilt (2-2, 0-1).

The Commodores had an open date last weekend, so they will have an extra week to prepare for Alabama. Most recently, Vanderbilt lost to Missouri 30-27 in overtime in Columbia, Missouri.

So far this season, the Commodores have defeated Virginia Tech and Alcorn State but lost to Georgia State and Missouri.

Vanderbilt and Alabama last played in 2022, a game Alabama won 55-3. The last time the two teams met in Nashville was in 2017, when Alabama won 59-0. Vanderbilt hasn’t scored a touchdown against the Crimson Tide since 2007.

The Commodores also haven’t beaten Alabama since 1984.
