Watch ‘SNL’ parody ‘House of the Dragon’ in a timely skit full of crazy names and plot twists

Fire and blood and… hobbits?

Since House of the Dragon is on break again, Saturday Night Live steps in to fill the fantasy void…by gleefully making fun of it game of Thrones Spin off.

A contemporary sketch by SNLIn the Season 50 premiere, a group of friends – Heidi Gardner, Andrew Dismukes, Devon Walker and Jane Wickline – settle in on the couch, just in time for the return of their favorite saga about a family of backstabbers seeking power: Blonde dragon people.

“It started to get so good towards the end of the first season,” he says SNL Newcomer Wickline. The only problem is that the gap between seasons was so long that the friends can’t remember where the plot left off.

Naturally, they turn to the season recap for help…and then things get weird.

“Dorgos, I see you learned nothing from the Battle of Agramos,” says Chloe Fineman, who plays one of the titular Blonde Dragon People.

“Well, that’s strange what you say, Dormos,” replies Kenan Thopmson, another blonde wig-wearer. “I have just come from Eracos, where Dargamos is gathering the armies of Westfelia and South Westernos. Your reign will soon come to an end. I swear by Dorgon.”

Much to the couch friends’ confusion, the series continues in this vein – with the names becoming more and more similar and the characters making less sense by the minute. When SNL When host Jean Smart shows up and claims the “metal chair of spiky knives” from “The Right of Dragonseeds,” the group begins to lose track.

“Why do all people and cities have the same strange name?” an annoyed Gardner asks, and Dismukes agrees, replying, “Even in game of Thrones They gave us a guy named Jon.

Wickline then complains, “You haven’t even shown a complete dragon!”

Moments later, the series gets even weirder when Andy Samberg and Jelly Roll appear in their own blonde wigs as characters who look slightly out of place.

“A red sun is rising,” says Samberg ominously. “Blood was shed tonight. It’s me… Legolas. And we have come to rescue Aragorn from the clutches of Sarumon before he is dragged into the fires of Mordor.”

Then the fourth wall breaks as the Blonde Dragon People express and point out their own confusion The Lord of the Rings is a completely different property.

“This is the house of … Game of … the Dragon or whatever,” says Smart, sparking a lively discussion about which of the many streaming services is now hosting the show. And that kind of wraps up the second season Blonde dragon people.
