HOUSTON – Texans receiver Stefon Diggs scores his first career rushing touchdown on a trick play to erase the Texans’ special teams error and tie the game at 7-7.

The Texans began the afternoon by breathing life into the winless Jacksonville Jaguars when wide receiver Steven Sims released a punt at the two-yard line and the Jaguars’ Daniel Thomas recovered the loose ball. One play later, quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw a touchdown pass to wideout Brian Thomas Jr.

However, the Texans didn’t let this start derail them.

Quarterback C.J. Stroud found Nico Collins three times for 49 yards to get the offense into the red zone. Then, on third-and-2 from the Jaguars’ six-yard line, Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik called a trick play that caused Diggs to remove his hand and go to throw it.

But his intended target wasn’t open, so Diggs did it himself, running untouched into the end zone for the score.

After the Jaguars took the lead on a field goal, the Stroud-Collins connection emerged for a three-yard touchdown that gave the Texans a 14-10 lead in the second quarter.
