62-year-old woman in Tripura tied to tree by sons and burned alive | Agartala News

AGARTALA: A 62 year old woman was tied to a tree and allegedly set on fire by her two sons West Tripuraofficials said Sunday.
The police have taken both sons into custody and assume that a Family dispute could have been the motive for the brutal murder.
The incident, which occurred in Khamarbari under Champaknagar police station area on Saturday evening, is believed to have arisen out of a family dispute.
The woman, who had been living with her two sons after her husband’s death about a year and a half ago, was found by police after receiving a tip-off.
“After we received a report that a woman had been set on fire, a police team rushed there and found the burnt body tied to a tree. We took the body to the hospital for post-mortem,” Jirania sub-divisional police officer Kamal Krishna Koloi said.
The two sons were arrested in connection with the crime. “We have arrested her two sons for their alleged involvement in the case. They will be produced in court on Monday and are demanding that they be remanded by the police for questioning. A family dispute could be the reason for the incident,” Koloi added.
The authorities are conducting one Investigation into the matter.
