Nigeria’s Jide Awobona shot parts of his new film at the Assington Autos scrapyard near Sudbury.

Although he was unable to divulge too many details about the production, Awobona said that the film is a cross-cultural film and is the story of a Nigerian who is struggling because of the problems his father faced at home , travels to Great Britain.

“The audience will really enjoy it,” he added.

“It’s an idea of comedy, gangsta and tradegy. It will have a strong emotional appeal and people will be able to relate to the film.”

“Being in Suffolk was a very nice experience and it was the first time I had filmed in a scrapyard and I have never seen anything like it before.”

“Most people wouldn’t allow people to come over and record a film, but it shows they (Assington Autos) really understand the value of film production and how we’re trying to tell a story, so I want to thank the owners of the junkyard “High praise” and especially Daniel Collins, the operations and communications manager.”
