Arsenal vs PSG: Timber backs Rodri amid ‘dangerous’ schedule

Arsenal full-back Jurriën Timber is the latest player to criticize the fixture list, saying he fully agrees with the comments made by injured Manchester City midfielder Rodri.

Spaniard Rodri, who suffered a season-ending knee injury in the season-ending Premier League clash with Arsenal earlier this month, warned of a possible strike as players fear an extension of the Champions League and FIFA club competition. World Cup stand.

Timber missed most of last season with a cruciate ligament injury but has played in all six of Arsenal’s Premier League games this season and is expected to face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League at home on Tuesday.

“I totally agree with them,” Timber told reporters when asked about Rodri’s comments. “It’s a big topic in the locker rooms. I didn’t play last season, so I’m just enjoying it now. I completely understand what they are saying.”

“Definitely [players are more at risk]. I think it’s honestly a dangerous thing. Even last week we played City and City played two days later. This is too much.

“I think it’s really good that the players are speaking out now. It doesn’t look like it’s going to get any less. We try to be there in every game and do our best, but it’s getting more and more difficult.” Especially in England, where there is no winter break.

Arsenal drew at Atalanta in their first Champions League league game and face a PSG side who are expected to be without striker Ousmane Dembélé. Sources confirmed to ESPN on Monday that the France international did not travel to London with his team after a dispute with coach Luis Enrique.

The French club have several other players struggling to get fit for the game against Arsenal, including Nuno Mendes, who missed their win against Rennes at the weekend due to illness.

Lucas Hernández (knee), Presnel Kimpembe (Achilles tendon) and Gonçalo Ramos (ankle) are all out with long-term injuries.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said PSG would continue to pose a significant threat.

“They are really tough. They dominate every phase of the game. They have very clear intentions,” said Arteta.

“If they don’t have the ball, they immediately want it back and confront you. This is Luis.”

“Wherever he is, he plays the same context.”

Arsenal have concerns over full-back Ben White, who missed the 4-2 win over Leicester City at the weekend, while Riccardo Calafiori is also a doubt.

“These two players are in the running. We didn’t have a training session yesterday.” [Calafiori] It was a bit emotional after the game. Let’s see how he feels today,” said Arteta.
