Great gift – Rapid at the age of 90

The birthday party of Josef Ledl from Heinrichsdorf was characterized by gratitude and good spirits. In his nineties, he was particularly happy that he could still experience this with all four siblings – Herbert Ledl (94), Maria Kronfuß (89), Erika Zauner (84) and the “youngest” Helga van Dyck (82): “The mia no all fives san, is a gift”.

His wife Traude, his two daughters Anita Daffert and Gabi Krehan, his four grandchildren and the youngest offspring, great-grandson Felix Fleischhacker, were there. And because the very agile celebrant Zeit has always loved watching football, he was particularly happy about a gift from his entire family. On Sunday, his two sons-in-law, Otto Daffert and Robert Krehan, accompanied him to the Rapid Vienna football match against LASK, where he experienced a great match and a real day of pampering in the VIP room. “Uncle Pepi” was astonished when his name and birthday suddenly rang out over the stadium announcer in front of 22,000 spectators.

When asked at the previous celebration in the Gasthaus Koch in Kainreith whether he would also go to an Austria game, this was of course followed by a spontaneous “Never!” In return, the nineties player knew all the names of the legendary SK Rapid and SK Rapid strikers at the push of a button National teams from more than half a century ago.
