Android 15: The first manufacturer begins distribution even before Google

New update

Android 15 is available for download on the first devices – but neither on Google nor on Samsung cell phones. Instead, a Chinese manufacturer is the first with the new operating system.

Normally, with the market launch of the current Pixel generation, Google also updates to a new version of the underlying Android operating system. However, nothing came of it this year: As the company recently explained, Android 15 will not be available on Pixel smartphones until next October. Samsung has also announced a similar development.

However, it is usually the case that Google is the first manufacturer to arrive with the update – but this year another company is grabbing this status. As some users on the X/Twitter platform explain, the first Vivo smartphones are currently receiving notifications about the upcoming download of Android 15 (via Neowin).

The innovations include the features already presented: AI functions for post-processing images or real-time translations when making calls are shown. Google itself plans to start releasing the update to Android 15 on October 15th.
