Kaylee McGhee White surprised Slotkin realizes Harris could lose Michigan

Kaylee McGhee White questioned why Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) is only “just now” realizing that Vice President Kamala Harris could lose the 2024 election, citing recent events in the political race.

Slotkin informed her donors last week that internal polling for her Senate campaign suggests Harris is “underwater” in Michigan, a state that former President Donald Trump is hoping to win again after losing it to President Joe Biden in 2020 had. White, the Restoring America editor for the Washington Examiner, said she had argued “for weeks” that Harris couldn’t win Michigan, citing that the Teamsters union had offered her no support.

“And they did that because if you look at the breakdown by state, more than 60% of Michigan Teamsters union members said they supported Trump over Kamala Harris,” White, a Michigan native, said on Fox News Fox and friends first. “Listen, you’re not winning the state of Michigan if you’re so underwater with working-class white men, and that’s the demographic that she struggles with the most. And apparently the White Dudes for Kamala events just aren’t right.”

White then predicted that if Harris lost Michigan, she would also lose Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, two other swing states, in the Electoral College.

The topic of the vice presidential debate was also raised, with White predicting it will be a pivotal moment for voters in the 2024 election. She cited how Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) offers a better path for the country in a post-Trump era and that voters see neither Harris nor her running mate, Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN), as “the next one.” great democratic leaders.”

The vice presidential debate is scheduled to take place Tuesday night, and CBS News will not publish a fact check on either candidate. The 90-minute debate begins at 9:00 p.m. ET.

As for another presidential debate, Trump has ruled out the possibility after debating Harris earlier this month. The vice president is trying to goad Trump into another debate with a few campaign taunts, and she has already agreed to an invitation from CNN to an Oct. 23 debate.
